In addition to providing a financial service to St
George's Healthcare NHS Trust, the Finance Directorate also provides an
accounting service to two individual medical charities. The biggest of the
charities is the St George's Hospital Charity who have funds in excess of £23
million invested and who finance various projects within St George's Healthcare
NHS Trust Hospital sites. Charity funds have to be accounted for in their own
prescribed format and the Not For Profit team ensure that we comply with all the
statutory requirements while at the same time keeping the administration costs
borne by the Charities to a minimum. This is a challenging and interesting area
to work in and most trainees find it of benefit in giving them an all round
training.
